Interest Rates To Rise

ME Bank will lift its interest rates by 25 basis points following the Reserve Bank's decision to lift the cash rate by 25 basis points on the following products:

  • Home Loans
  • Online Savings Account
  • InterestME Savings Account
  • Business Investment Account
  • Business Direct Savings Account

This rate change is effective from Wednesday, 12 May 2010.

ME Bank will terminate its sponsorship of Melbourne Storm.

ME Bank Chief Executive Jamie McPhee said today ME Bank has decided to terminate its sponsorship agreement with the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club.

  • InterestME Savings Account

  • Business Loans

This rate change is effective from Wednesday, 14 April 2010.

ME Bank today is expanding its preferential Super Member product range to include Super Members Term Deposits (SMTD). SMTD is a Term Deposit with a bonus interest rate of up to 0.25% p.a. for 5 million members of ME Bank's participating super funds and unions.

Home loan variable rates to rise

ME Bank will lift its standard variable home loan rate by 25 basis points following the Reserve Bank's decision to lift the cash rate by 25 basis points. This rate change is effective from Thursday, 11 March 2010. The Super Members Home Loan standard variable home loan rate is currently 6.24% and will rise to 6.49%.

ME Bank wins awards for re-opening the frozen securities market last year

ME Bank received domestic and global awards for our performance in the financial markets for the calendar year of 2009. These awards were in recognition of ME Bank being the first bank in the world to launch a structured finance deal - without the Government safety net - in a global credit market that had been frozen since the collapse of Lehmann Bros Bank in August 2008.
