With EveryDay purchases on ME Bank's PINK Debit Card, you can give to breast cancer research

A new debit card launched by ME Bank is helping consumers raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation through their everyday purchases.

With each purchase made using the new PINK Debit MasterCard, ME Bank will donate one cent to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

"This is a unique opportunity for Australians to support breast cancer research without draining their wallet," said Ian Hendey, Group Executive, Brand, Product and Distribution.

Recent RBA figures have revealed the average Australian family uses debit card for around half their monthly purchases. In June, $150 million worth of purchases were made by Australians using debit card.

"We know more and more Australians prefer to use debit cards over credit. The PINK Debit MasterCard marks the first time an Australian bank has formed a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation – and the first time Australians, just by going about their every day shopping, can give to a worthy cause," said Mr. Hendey.

ME Bank expects more than $300,000 in donations to go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation within the next three years from purchases customers make using their PINK Debit MasterCard.

Consumers can obtain a PINK Debit MasterCard by signing up for an ME Bank EveryDay Transaction Account through our branches or on our website.

"By choosing a PINK Debit MasterCard, Australians are being given the opportunity to effortlessly contribute towards research into breast cancer – a disease which sees more than 10,000 people diagnosed every year.

"The National Breast Cancer Foundation's mission touches many lives and continues to have a great impact with the efforts to find prevention and a cure for breast cancer," Mr. Hendey added.
